November 2015 - Scotland, Niagara Falls ON and Toronto ON.
For Courtney's birthday we went to Scotland for a week. For Thanksgiving we went up to Niagara Falls and Toronto.
Grandmama and Pop were very kind to come up to PA and watch the kids for a week so Court and I could go to Scotland for her birthday. We started out in Edinburgh.
We toured the Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith and walked down to Dean Village along the Water of Leith.
Followed by Saint Andrews.
Saint Andrews Castle from the break water.
Then we traveled further North through Cairngorms National Park, where the only thing more beautiful than the park itself is Courtney in front of the Park!
Balmoral Castle, summer home of the Queen.
Our hotel in Aberlour had over 400 varieties of Scotch and the tour of the Aberlour distillery was outstanding.
Craigellachie Bridge over the River Spey.
Then over to Inverness where we saw Culloden Battlefield and druid burial grounds.
Urquhart Castle over Loch Ness.
As we drove from Inverness to Stirling we saw the first snowfall of the year and the gorgeous Ben Nevis and Glencoe National Park.
Stirling Castle was our favorite of the four castles we visited and to make it a really small world they had recreated the unicorn tapestries we saw at the Cloisters in NYC.
Robert the Bruce in the foreground and the William Wallace monument in the background. The Kelpies between Stirling and Edinburgh.
When we got home the kids had a cake with a lot of candles ready to go!
For Thanksgiving and my birthday we took a trip to Niagara Falls. Great view of the falls from our hotel room.
James and I took the ferry into the falls. He accurately described it like being inside a hurricane!
After seeing the falls we continued north to Toronto to visit my cousins and our new second cousins. Court with Callum and Rylea with Sully!
Beer and Hockey, when in Canada!
Ry and Court enjoying the pool while James and I went up in the CN Tower.
The view out and down from the observation deck.
