July 2016 -
Belhaven NC, Layton UT, Teton Village WY, Yellowstone NP WY
After spending the 4th of July in North Carolina we went on our family vacation "out West." Rylea enjoyed a couple days at the Rose Doll Show then we visited the Great Salt Lake, the Tetons, and Yellowstone.
Rhett and Rylea at the 4th of July picnic.
Pop and Rylea playing cornhole by the river (my favorite part is Ry standing exactly like Court).
Ry holding an alien baby doll at the Rose Doll Show in Layton UT.
While in Layton UT we went over to Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake.
It was hot but there was a great breeze and an even better view.
On our way from Salt Lake City to Yellowstone we spent a night in Teton Village.
James decided to paraglide off the top of the mountain! I think Court was three times as nervous as J was.
The rest of us rode the ski lift to the top where we enjoyed waffles and whiskey! We stopped by Jackson Lake on our way North.
In Yellowstone we had the pleasure of watching a small group of bison play in the dirt.
On our first day in the park we stopped by the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the Artist's Paintpots.
Papa and Nana were kind enough to join us at Yellowstone.
The best way to enjoy a beautiful sunset over Lake Yellowstone is to pose like Captain Morgan.
On our second day we checked out Old Faithful...
...had lunch at the classic Old Faithful Lodge...
...and ended our tour with a stop by the Grand Prismatic Spring.
And I can't resist adding a couple photos of the animals because they are so dang cute.
